#Generalities: BactoTrait database (BactoTrait_databaseV1_nov2020.csv) was built based on the global BacDive database (BacDive in 2019: bacterial phenotypic data for High-throughput biodiversity analysis. Reimer, L. C., Vetcininova, A., Sardˆ Carbasse, J., Sšhngen, C., Gleim, D., Ebeling, C., Overmann, J. Nucleic Acids Research; database issue 2019) for pure culture bacteria. Data were downloaded via the online portal in May 2019 (https://bacdive.dsmz.de/). From the 76 998 bacteria strains available on Bacdive, we kept in the BactoTrait database the 19 455 bacterial strains having at least one trait described. Crude Bacdive data have been transformed through fuzzy coding, and trait categories (attributes) were determined. #How to cite BactoTrait database and get more information: CŽbron A., Zeghal E., Usseglio-Polatera P., Meyer A., Bauda P., Lemmel F., Leyval C., Maunoury-Danger F.
